8 March – 18 April 2014
To coincide with the period of Lent and Easter, Edmund de Waal made a series of freestanding vitrines for Southwark Cathedral, London. The work, called another hour comprised 12, 7ft tall towers containing a single white porcelain vessel, and were installed in a serpentine line throughout the retrochoir at the east of the cathedral. They are an attempt to make you pause, to stand still and listen in this vast building, and contemplate the changing light and shadow of the space.
